We have one team, Michigan State. The team will have 15 players.
The season will begin late, probably June 1 - July 31. We want the high school girls who have committed to other activities in May to be available. We will have practices, probably beginning in late April, but that's up to Jerome.
We will possibly be playing on the following fields: Lincolnwood's Prosel Park (contracted) Good Counsel (contracted) Loyola University (promised) Selected Niles parks (promised)
The contracted fields are shared with the lower divisions.
We have an excellent team and the Spartan's will be hard to beat!
If you were born after December 31, 1985 you are not too old!!!!
If you are born after December 31, 1987, you are a 14U.
We still don't know the exact format this league will take (what fields, how many teams, etc.).
ESAA is attempting to put together a team or two of ESAA girls to play Niles and possibly other suburban girls.
Leads are Tim O'Connor and Larry Kemnetz, with support from Bill Matschke.
We all met with Dan Kosiba, the Commissioner of Niles Girl's Softball, on Tuesday, December 3, 2002.
Dan was very receptive to a combined Niles /ESAA 16U league. The league will be recreational more than competitive. This means we will take any young lady who wants to play. Many wrinkles to iron out, but this is a start. Niles thinks they will have four teams.

Unanswered questions at this time: * Will we have one or two ESAA teams? * If two teams, who will coach the second team?
Remember, this is a sixteen and under team so we are basically interested in high school freshmen and sophomores. Ask a friend to register with you.
